Overall coordination/BIM

BIM & overall coordination

BIM (Building Information Modeling) has been in use at the building services engineering consultant HHM since 2015. Experience from over 60 BIM projects shows that we need standards and new processes to demonstrably tap into the digital potential. Centralized specialist coordination minimizes interfaces.

Central BIM building blocks

BUILDing360 industry models – standards as a prerequisite: The open BIM

standard stands for independence, creates investment security, and

guarantees clients data sovereignty. BUILDing360 as the foundation for

systematic digital planning, construction, and management.

Connected BIM by HHM – Collaboration in the Cloud: Data, team

communication, and the digital model take place in a real-time work environment. Communication disruptions are minimized thanks to real-time communication (MS Teams), collaboration (Autodesk Construction Cloud), and coordination (Revizto) in shared planning workflows.

Overall coordination and project organization

Spatial and technical coordination, as part of the specialist coordination, is a central interface function. Its foundation is a lean project organization that minimizes duplication and interfaces. We have dedicated roles for this: The overall coordinator/BIM , who focuses on planning and is responsible for the customized, interdisciplinary building technology solution, is the primary contact for external planners and is responsible for planning, spatial, technical, and BIM coordination.

Digital planning solutions thanks to technology expertise

Our Technology Business Unit (BIT) has in-house developers. They develop digital planning solutions based on the requirements of the project business. This allows us to leverage the efficiency potential of digitalization. The digireal team , in turn, networks, structures, and organizes, thus relieving clients of complexity. We have developed numerous BIM applications in our hybrid business model that are in use today:

Paperless construction site (Connected BIM by HHM)

— Model-based performance calculations according to SIA 2024

— Laser staking from the BIM model

— Automated creation of bill of quantities

— Lighting planning and lighting calculation directly in the BIM model

— Model-based ordering of building materials

— Model-based prefabrication
