Story

Foundation laid over 70 years ago

In 1951, Reto Martignoni laid the foundation stone of the company in Zurich. Following its conversion to a stock corporation in 1972, a branch office in Aarau opened a year later. A third branch was established in Zug in 1994. In 1999, the company was converted into a holding structure and Josef Berger AG was acquired.

The first business segment, “Telematics,” was launched in 1992. One year after the 50th anniversary, the “Health” business segment followed in 2002, followed by “Lighting” in 2003. “Energy” and “Security” were added in 2004. In 2005, MOOR Elektroplan AG in Zurich was acquired, and the following year, the electrical planning division of PZM Polke, Ziege, von Moos AG was integrated into HHM Zurich. Another year later, Rolf Grau Elektroplanungen in Solothurn joined the group.

The succession plan was resolved in 2010. In the same year, HHM Telematik merged with HHM Zurich, and Josef Berger AG merged with HHM Zug. Rolf Grau Elektroplanungen AG was also renamed HHM Solothurn, shortly before its 60th anniversary. Subsequently, the branches HHM St. Gallen (2012), HHM Bern (2013), and HHM Basel (2014) were established. The HHM Group acquired Hugentobler Ing. HLKS GmbH in 2018 and integrated it into HHM St. Gallen in January 2020. Two new subsidiaries, launched in 2021, were launched: Building Information Technology AG (BIT AG), based in Aarau, and digireal AG, based in Rotkreuz.
